Most people train, supplement, and optimize without understanding their actual physiology.
Our Baseline Assessment includes:
VO₂ max testing
VT1 / VT2 thresholds
body composition
physician interpretation
personalized strategy
Physician-Led Longevity & Performance Assessment
Understand your physiology.
Identify your highest-leverage opportunities.
Build a plan that actually fits your life.
The Baseline Assessment at TMD Health is a comprehensive physician-led evaluation for individuals who want objective insight into their health, performance, and long-term risk—not guesswork, generic advice, or disconnected test results.
Includes VO₂ max testing, ventilatory thresholds, body composition, physician interpretation, and a personalized optimization plan.
Location note: Red Bank, NJ
Most people are optimizing without knowing their baseline.
Many people are exercising, taking supplements, tracking sleep, ordering labs, and trying to improve their health—but without a clear understanding of their underlying physiology.
The result is often fragmented effort:
training without knowing true aerobic zones
lab testing without meaningful interpretation
weight loss attempts without body composition context
health goals without objective tracking
expensive interventions without prioritization
The Baseline Assessment is designed to answer a more useful question:
Where are you now, what matters most, and what should you do next?
This is for you if you want more than a routine physical.
The Baseline Assessment is designed for adults who want a deeper, more actionable understanding of their health.
It may be a good fit if you are:
focused on longevity, prevention, and healthspan
training for endurance, performance, or general fitness
concerned about cardiovascular or metabolic risk
frustrated by “normal” labs but suboptimal health
trying to lose fat while preserving muscle
returning to fitness after time away
looking for a physician who can interpret data and help implement a plan
This is not a generic wellness visit. It is a structured evaluation designed to turn data into strategy.
What the Baseline Assessment Includes
1. Physician Consultation
A detailed review of your medical history, goals, training background, nutrition patterns, medications, supplements, family history, and risk factors.
2. VO₂ Max Testing
Direct assessment of cardiorespiratory fitness, one of the strongest predictors of long-term health, performance, and functional capacity.
3. Ventilatory Thresholds: VT1 and VT2
Identification of your true aerobic and high-intensity thresholds to guide training zones, conditioning strategy, and performance development.
4. Body Composition Assessment
Evaluation of body composition patterns, including lean mass and fat mass, to better understand metabolic health, strength needs, and long-term risk.
5. Physician Interpretation
The most important part of the assessment: translating your data into meaningful priorities. Testing is only useful if it changes what you do next.
6. Personalized Strategy
A clear plan addressing the highest-yield opportunities across training, nutrition, recovery, biomarkers, risk reduction, and follow-up testing when appropriate.
7. Written Summary
A concise written summary of key findings, interpretation, and recommended next steps.
Not just testing. Not a lab dump. Not a generic wellness package.
You can order lab panels online. You can wear a fitness tracker. You can find generic health advice anywhere.
The value of the Baseline Assessment is not simply collecting more data.
The value is knowing:
which data matters
what it means in context
what to prioritize first
what not to overreact to
how to turn information into durable action
TMD Health focuses on the interpretation and implementation layer—the part that is usually missing.
How It Works
Step 1: Schedule Your Assessment
Book your Baseline Assessment or start with a brief discovery call if you are unsure whether it is the right fit.
Step 2: Complete Intake Forms
You will complete a detailed intake so your visit can be focused, efficient, and personalized.
Step 3: Complete Testing and Consultation
Your assessment includes physiologic testing and a physician visit to understand your goals, risks, and current trajectory.
Step 4: Receive Your Personalized Plan
You will receive an interpretation of your results and a strategy for training, nutrition, recovery, risk reduction, and next-step testing if needed.
Step 5: Decide Whether Ongoing Membership Makes Sense
Some people use the Baseline Assessment as a one-time evaluation. Others continue with TMD Health membership for longitudinal guidance, accountability, and ongoing optimization.
Your physiology is measurable.
VO₂ max and ventilatory thresholds provide insight into how your body produces, delivers, and uses energy.
These metrics help answer questions like:
How fit am I for my age?
Am I training in the right zones?
Why am I plateauing?
Am I building durability or just accumulating fatigue?
How aggressively should I train?
What should I track over time?
For longevity, performance, and metabolic health, these measurements can be more actionable than a routine physical alone.
Testing should be individualized, not automatic.
Additional testing may be recommended based on your history, goals, risk factors, and initial findings.
Options may include:
advanced bloodwork
lipid and cardiometabolic markers
hormone evaluation when appropriate
DEXA body composition or bone density scan
coronary artery calcium scoring
continuous glucose monitoring
additional imaging or specialty testing when clinically indicated
Testing costs are discussed transparently before ordering. The goal is not to order everything—it is to order what is most useful.

From baseline to ongoing optimization
The Baseline Assessment gives you clarity. Membership provides ongoing guidance.
TMD Health membership is designed for individuals who want physician-led interpretation, implementation support, and longitudinal refinement over time.
Membership may include:
ongoing physician access
review of labs and outside testing
training, nutrition, recovery, and supplement guidance
periodic reassessment
biomarker strategy
accountability and plan refinement
Membership is optional and recommended only when ongoing support is likely to add value.
Why not just order labs online?
Online lab platforms can be useful, but they do not replace medical interpretation, prioritization, or implementation.
More data is not always better. The right data, interpreted correctly, is what matters.
Is this covered by insurance?
TMD Health is a direct-pay practice. Some services may be eligible for HSA/FSA reimbursement depending on your plan, but coverage is not guaranteed.
Do I need to be an athlete?
No. VO₂ max and threshold testing are valuable for both performance and longevity. Many clients are not competitive athletes—they are simply serious about preserving health, energy, and independence.
What if I already have recent lab work?
Bring it. Existing data can often be incorporated into your assessment. Additional testing is recommended only when it adds value.
Start with clarity.
If you are investing time, energy, and money into your health, start by understanding your baseline.
The Baseline Assessment gives you objective data, physician interpretation, and a personalized plan for what to do next.
